Quick Smart Cleaning ? The Lounge

Quick Smart Cleaning ? The Lounge

 by: Barry Hynd

In our very first quick smart cleaning guide we look at how you can clean your lounge area in fifteen minutes.

Now, you?re probably thinking that a fifteen-minute clean just isn't possible. Not only is it possible, though, it's also highly desirable: it can be a very long day when yu have to work, look after the kids and take care of all of the household chores, too: hopefully we can show you how to save a little but of time which you can then spend however you want.

First of all before we start you?ll need some sort of basket or bag. This is to put non-lounge items in. It would also be good if you could have a duster to hand and also a vacuum cleaner or a brush. OK, are you ready?

Take a look around the room to find any items that don?t belong in the lounge. Put these in your basket or bag and put it to one side. The settee is next: brush down all the cushions and check down the backs...

Three Excellent Ways To Turbo Charge Your Sales Presentations

Three Excellent Ways To Turbo Charge Your Sales Presentations

 by: Kyle Varner

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have helped many salesmen go from average to excellent. Sales is all about the subconscious mind. When I was in high school, I sold Kirby vacuum cleaners door to door, and I noticed something very interesting: everyone had the same basic sales presentation, and yet some of us (like me!) were making excellent money, and others were making next to nothing. What is the difference?

The Devil is in the Details

The details of our sales presentations were the only things that differed?and sometimes those details are minute?even undetectable. They might occur on the subconscious level or the salesman, or they might be things that the salesman consciously does in order to influence the subconscious mind of their prospective client. The point is that, if you have a proven sales presentation, the difference between being excellent and being...

Dog Fleas

Dog Fleas

 by: Rita Hutner

Dog fleas can cause more than itching.

They are difficult to control, but, left unchecked, they can cause your dog very serious health problems.

Simple facts about dog fleas:

Fleas are probably the most successful creatures on the planet in terms of reproduction. There are over 2,400 species and they are difficult to control for a variety of reasons: One female flea will produce 25,000 offspring in one month. An unfed adult can live for several months. The chemicals used to eradicate adult dog fleas have no effect on the eggs. Fleas are very good at mutating to resist new pesticides.

Fleas are a menace to dogs! They cause allergic dermatitis, tapeworms, and anemia. Most of the eggs are not laid on the dog but in the dog's bedding, in the rug, and on the furniture. It is extremely difficult to eradicate fleas completely. The most you can hope for is to control them and to keep your dog reasonably comfortable...

Six Carpet Care Tips

Six Carpet Care Tips

 by: Steve Gillman

Which is the most important of my carpet care tips? You'll find it at the top of the list below. Use the five other tips as well, and you'll get years more use from your carpet.

Top Carpet Care Tips

1. Keep your carpet clean. Sand and dirt act like thousands of little razor blades that cut carpet fibers. Damaged carpet stains more easily, and it's harder to remove the stains from it as well. Vacuum often to remove dirt, and your carpet will last longer.

2. Use rugs. Put rugs outside and inside the front door, and any other entrances. They can catch much of the dirt that people bring in on their feet. That means less vacuuming and longer carpet life.

3. Remove shoes. This is a sure way to make carpet last longer. If you have a nice home with nice carpet, people usually aren't offended by this policy.

4. Clean stains quickly and properly. If using a cleaning solvent other than water,...

Good Computer Maintenance - Part Two

Good Computer Maintenance - Part Two

 by: Marv Ko

In our last part of discussion of good computer maintenance, we will discuss backing up, some free stuff, and cleaning tips.
All great bits of advice for proper care of your computer.

Back It Up

One maintenance task that is still crucial is backing up your data, particularly if it is business or financial related.
At the very least, manuallly copy such data to a recordable CD or DVD disc when it changes.
More sophisticated options include using the more automated backup tools that come with Windows, a stand alone backup program for networks such as the well regarded Dantz Retrospect Professional (www.dantz.com), or a Web backup system such as the excellent IBackup (www.ibackup.com).

Free Stuff

One really interesting maintenance task is checking to see who is...

Organizing Your Living Room-Family Room

Organizing Your Living Room-Family Room

 by: Simon Harris

Generally there is one room in the house where most of the "family living" takes place. In order to have a pleasant and welcoming living area for your family, and a place you can be proud of when you have visitors, you need to come up with some type of organization and storage for your main room, whether it be the living room or family room.

Step back and take a look at your room as a stranger would. Is it cluttered? Are there newspapers, catalogs and magazines pilled up all over the tables? Kids toys thrown all over? Shoes lying around? What is the condition of the furniture, would you feel comfortable sitting on your sofa, or does it obviously belong to the family dog?

One great way to start organizing any room in your house is to start with empty baskets with the name of each family member. Anything that you find in the living room/family room that doesn't belong in that room...
